Since I read the manga scanslation of Midori no Hibi, I've been looking forward to the anime. The first two episodes of this anime have met my high expectations.
The plot of MnH is as simple as it is timeless: A guy has his right hand as a girlfriend.
Hm... That synopsis doesn't really quite cut it. Let's try something longer. Midori is a girl who has a crush on random dirtbag guy Seiji, but was too shy to confess to him. One day, she wakes up attached to his arm where his right hand should be. (Her waist is roughly where his wrist should be. She no longer has anything beneath that area.) This leads to interesting antics, as they try to go on with their lives despite this scenerio. It's especially tough for the fighter Seiji, who can no longer use his legendary "Devil's Right Hand" attack.
I really dug the first two episodes. The first one introduces the characters and the situation, while the second has Seiji placed into a fight with a gang and going over to Midori's house to visit her family. (I don't want to spoil ep2 too much.)
I like the conversion into an anime. The manga relies on a lot of cheating to get the difference in scale between Midori and Seiji right, and I was worried that the anime wouldn't be able to pull that off. I needn't have worried... I believed the animation from the first second.
One thing I really liked was the way the mini-Midori is slightly deformed as compared to the real Midori we see in the closing credits. It's a nice contrast between her real body and her mini-self.
This is one of the new spring series I'm following, and I'm really looking forward to the release of episode 3.
