If there's an anime designed to appeal to the radical left, it's Earth Girl Arjuna. As I'm so not a member of the radical left, it's no wonder that I hate it. It's filled with all sorts of non-subtle enviromentalist messages, many of which have no bearing on reality. With all sorts of preachy (and wrong) anti-technology, anti-globablist messages, not even a really good mix of 2d and 3d animation is enough to save this show.

An example of the preachy nature is the characters marvelling that if "only one person in ten" does organic farming as a hobby "then everyone can be fed." The character in question uses a giant farm in the mountains to feed himself organically. Organic farming is a fun quirk, but it won't feed six billion people.

I had to read an interview with Borlaug just to get the bad taste of this series out of my brain.

I rate this series unwatchably bad, and stopped watching it at the start of episode 6.
