Continuing this week's project of writing episode reviews for all of the spring season series I'm watching, today's review is of Midori no Hibi #7.
This episode is a laugh-out-loud funny one featuring Ayase (the class president that Seiji saved in one of the earlier episodes) trying to seduce him using a variety of elaborate plans. Seiji, of course, is totally oblivious that this is going on, seeing instead an opportunity for a free movie ticket and a free dinner. The results are quite funny (especially the 'take responsibility, you!' plan). And of course, poor Midori is caught in the middle, as her love/host goes on what would be a date with another girl had he actually noticed her affections for him.
In general, Midori no Hibi has been a series of funny episodes focused on the minor characters, such as Seiji's former bike gang leader sister, Ayase, the kid next door with an unrequited crush on him, and a doll-fetishist classmate. I'm looking forward to some episodes featuring Midori and Seiji, and it looks like next week's will be one of them.
Another random comment I want to make while I'm on the subject of MnH is how much the ending animation/theme has grown on me, especially the first three notes. I don't exactly know why I like it so much, but I do.
I'll call this a good and funny episode. (In general, I've found all of the shows I'm watching this season to be quite good, albeit for different reasons.)
