First, let me apologize for the limited reviewing/blogging. I had to present an important paper at school, and I'm also moving to Virginia tomorrow, so my anime-watching schedule has become extremely limited.
Anyway, on to Onegai Teacher. This is a series about a random loser guy who winds up married to his homeroom teacher, who happens to be a space alien. Kei, the guy, is also prone to coming to a standstill, a condition in which he is in a coma for (potentially) years at a time, without aging. Add in an interesting supporting cast of mundane students and alien relatives, and you get a decent show.
The basic story revolves around Kei (the guy) and Mizuho (his teacher), and what sort of relationship they can enter into after being forced into a marriage in the second episode. This is complicated by the other students (one of whom has a crush on Kei), Mizuho's family (her sister Maho loves to mess with them) and Kei's tendency to fall into a standstill when life goes rough. So it's always a case of two steps forward, 2 3/4 steps back.
Anyway, I'll call Onegai Teacher a good series. It's not great like it's sequel, but I liked it quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to the just-announced third series.
